Invested in our Community / The Voice Project
Thanks to the involvement of our Family Law Legal Executive Jo Mayes who is a keen participant, we are a long term supporter of local open-access singing project; The Voice Project.
The Voice Project, created in 2008 by singers Sian Croose and Jonathan Baker, brings together hundreds of singers in performances of brand new vocal music in venues around the Norwich. The Project also runs workshops designed to build vocal confidence and explore a wide variety of uplifting and inspiring vocal music.
The accessibility of the choir is a very important aspect, with no entry auditions, and music taught by ear … scores and sound files are provided to support individual learning outside of rehearsals. There are usually two performances per year in the summer and winter with each being site-specific, using all the space available at the venue to tell a story.
We are pleased to have been able to help facilitate the project, with recent productions including The Arms of Sleep, Timepiece, The Sky is Full of Light, … and is this a Dream?, and I Reach Right up to the Sun; in venues including Norwich Cathedral, City Hall, The Assembly House, St Andrews Hall, Houghton Hall and St Mary’s Works.
