Norwich Solicitors Hatch Brenner is aiming to raise vital funds for nine of the UK’s best loved charities after signing up for Will Aid, the annual charity will writing campaign.
The Theatre-Street based law firm has signed up to the scheme, which runs throughout November, for the third year in a row, having raised a total of close to £12,000 so far.
Dawn Parkes, Hatch Brenner Managing Partner and Head of the Private Client team commented: “We are more than happy to be taking part in Will Aid again for 2017. I think part of the scheme’s success lies in its’ simplicity – we pledge to give a portion of our time to write basic wills, waiving our normal fee, and instead ask clients to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid. With our new Private Client Paralegal Bailey Yallop on board this year, we hope to raise lots of much needed funds for the nine Will Aid charities.”
Will Aid Campaign Director Peter de Vena Franks added: “One in three people die in the UK without making a will, often leaving confusion and chaos at an already difficult time. Will Aid encourages people to prepare this vital document and at the same time making a real difference by raising money for the partner charities. We are thrilled that Hatch Brenner is continuing their wonderful support of Will Aid.”
- The Will Aid scheme takes place across the UK from 1 - 30 November and supports the life-changing work of ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N. Ireland).
- It has raised more than £19 million for these charities since it launched in 1988.
- The recommended donation for a basic Will Aid will is £95 for a single will and £150 for a pair of mirror wills.
