Norwich solicitors, Hatch Brenner, joins the will writing charity campaign Will Aid again this year, taking part in the 2021 scheme. Running each November, the campaign enforces the need to have a professionally drawn-up will whilst making the service more accessible.

The central Norwich solicitors, located on Theatre Street, are taking part in the Will Aid scheme for the seventh year. Will Aid is a special partnership between the legal profession and nine of the UK’s best-loved charities. Every November as participating solicitors, Hatch Brenner waives the fee for writing a basic Will. Instead, they invite clients to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid – a suggested £100 for a single basic Will and £180 for a pair of basic ‘mirror’ Wills.

The firm has raised nearly £25,000 for the Will Aid charity group since joining the scheme in 2015, supporting the life-changing work of ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF (Scotland), Sightsavers and Trocaire (N. Ireland). In past years the funds have gone towards multiple initiatives that include building a dam, tree planting and training for farmers in third-world countries.

Established in 1988, Will Aid has enabled the legal profession to raise over £21 million for good causes. The Will Aid charities all work with the most vulnerable people in the UK and around the world. The funds raised have improved countless lives, providing them with life-changing support.

Caroline Billings, Hatch Brenner Partner and Head of the Private Client team commented: “We are delighted to be taking part in Will Aid again. We have been firm supporters of the scheme for many years and for 2021 welcome a new team member, Bengi Karakus to contribute to the will drafting. We hope to raise lots of much-needed funds for the nine Will Aid charities and provide local people with the peace of mind that having a professionally drawn up will bring”.
