Norwich solicitors hatch brenner to support moco theatre

Hatch Brenner LLP, the Theatre Street-based Solicitors, has announced that they will be supporting MOCO Theatre for the next year.

MOCO, formed in 2016, is a company of all-male, local performers showcasing immersive theatre using a brave, relevant text at site-specific venues around the city. Their Artistic Director and Founder is Miche Montague, and their patron is local actor Sam Clemmett, who is currently playing Albus Potter in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. They received great reviews last year following their first production; A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess at The Shoe Factory, St Mary’s Works.

Dawn Parkes, Hatch Brenner Managing Partner commented: “We are delighted to be working with MOCO Theatre. There is a personal link for us, with their patron Sam being the son of our Dispute Resolution Secretary Bridgette. We have very much enjoyed following Sam’s journey from starting out in acting to his current success on Broadway. I am sure that MOCO Theatre will be a breeding ground for several home-grown future stars – including another staff member Joe Darbyshire who is a current MOCO member.”

Bridgette Clemmett, Hatch Brenner Secretary said: “I have known the Artistic Director and Founder of MOCO, Miche Montague, for many years since she started tutoring Sam in drama. It is wonderful to have a Theatre Company like MOCO in the city to inspire young talent to grow their skills. Myself and my colleagues at work can’t wait to see the next production!”

Sam Clemmett added: “I am very excited to be patron of MOCO and I always look forward to hearing all about what MOCO is doing back in Norwich and sharing in Miche’s work, love and passion for the arts. I will always remember and be thankful to her for allowing me a space for developing my creativity and skills, which I use as a base in all my work. Miche continues to inspire me daily.”

Miche Montague, MOCO Theatre Artistic Director commented: “We would like to thank Hatch Brenner for their generous support and encouragement. The ongoing support of a prominent local business allows us to be secure in planning our future. Our projects go through a very collaborative process. MOCO is going from strength to strength due to the constant support of our incredibly talented designer, Jonathan Adkins, and hard-working operations manager, Mike Carson. It is a delight to work alongside them and with such a dedicated company of emerging young actors who often explain to me how much the experience helps them on their journeys as young men and how it gives them a purpose and confidence in their daily lives. As well as our forthcoming ‘Frankenstein’ production, we are already planning future projects including work with the prison and a continuation of our creative well-being projects exploring male mental health.”
