A six-strong team from Norwich-based Solicitors Hatch Brenner successfully completed the Coastal Walk Challenge this weekend for the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation. Following the coastal path for 47 miles, the team started on Friday lunchtime and walked day and night from Hunstanton to Cromer to complete the challenge at 6.20am on Saturday morning.
Legal Secretary Alison Riches and Divorce Solicitor Richard Dilks were the first to cross the finish line, completing the walk at Cromer Pier in just under 19 hours. They were closely followed by the rest of Team Hatch Brenner: Property Partner Christopher Cubitt, Commercial Property Solicitor Aashish Soni, Dispute Resolution Solicitor Adam Blenkinsop and Administrator Joe Darbyshire. Although the challenge is not a race, the Community Sports Foundation have advised that the Hatch Brenner team are the fastest to have ever completed the challenge, arriving at the finish line two hours earlier than the organisers were expecting!
Adam Blenkinsop, the team leader for the group commented: “We are delighted to have completed the challenge. It was gruelling, and we all suffered blisters, aches and pains – my feet are now completely ruined but we are thankful to all the support we have received, and are well on our way to raising lots of money for the great work of the Foundation. We have raised over £1,000 so far but are hoping to reach over £1,500 once all the funds have been collected. It was a fantastic team effort with great morale in our group throughout which definitely contributed to us being able to finish in such a good time.”
