It is recognised by lawyers, insurers and the courts, together with the medical profession, that rehabilitation is a key part in the process of recovery. We are committed to securing early rehabilitation for our clients where possible which might involve treatment not otherwise available through the NHS.
How we can help
We are experienced in working with the assistance of insurers to obtain rehabilitation through means of the:
- Rehabilitation Code
- By use of interim payments
- By obtaining court orders on behalf of clients where insurers fail to co-operate in providing either rehabilitation or interim payments as identified above
What is involved?
Under The Rehabilitation Code many insurers will abide by a voluntary code to provide early treatment designed to get you back on your feet as soon as possible. This benefits everyone involved. Abiding by The Rehabilitation Code usually means a client submitting to an Immediate Needs Assessment where rehabilitation needs are addressed and a plan is put in action to provide the necessary treatment.
The situation can be more complicated when insurers fail to co-operate with The Rehabilitation Code. Steps can be taken to secure treatment on either a deferred payment basis or by court imposed interim payment awards.
Our clients are regularly involved in rehabilitation schemes put in place with the agreement of insurers but monitored by us to ensure that the client’s best interests are represented at all times.
Rehabilitation schemes can be as basic as the implementation of physiotherapy or as complicated as putting in place brain injury case managers and support workers with a complete rehabilitation care regime costing tens of thousands of pounds.< Back to Brain Injury
