Hatch Brenner Solicitors on Theatre Street has been supporting local employment organisation MINT, by hosting a pre-employment placement student for a ten-week programme.
MINT is an employment provision, based in The Forum, set up by City College Norwich. They focus on getting young people, aged between 16 and 25 years old, who have a barrier to work, into sustainable paid employment.
Dawn Parkes, Hatch Brenner Managing Partner commented: “We have been very pleased to host our MINT student, Alex Shackley, for her ten-week placement. Having worked with MINT in previous years, we see the value for both us as a business, and the wider community in engaging with this type of scheme. Alex has been able to meaningfully contribute to our work via her administration and marketing support.”
Jan Maddix, MINT Employment Coach added: “We would like to thank Hatch Brenner for their ongoing support of MINT. It is vital for the success of our placements, that we have engaged businesses who are willing to invest time in the young people we help. We have had great success in the outcomes of our students following their placements, given the exposure they gain towards real life business situations.”
Alex Shackley said: “Thanks to the team at Hatch Brenner for hosting me in my MINT placement. I have learnt how to use new software, developed lots of new skills and have enjoyed helping multiple departments. I feel much more confident about taking the next steps towards an interesting and fulfilling career.”
