Hatch Brenner Solicitors on Theatre Street has announced they will continue to support Norfolk youth charity MAP: The Mancroft Advice Project throughout 2019-20.
As part of the Norwich Financial Inclusion Consortium, MAP, Citizens Advice and partners have been selected by the Lord Mayor and Sheriff as the Civic Charity for 2019-20. The Norwich Financial Inclusion Consortium is a group of advice agencies, helping city residents exercise their rights, promote equality and help reduce poverty across the city.
MAP offers independent information, advice and advocacy; youth work, informal education and counselling for young people aged 11-25 years. They support over 4,000 young people every year, particularly those who are disengaged from their local community, disadvantaged by their background or deemed to be at risk in their current circumstances.
Hatch Brenner has been supporting the charity since 2017.
One of the first joint activities this year will be the Lord Mayor’s Procession on Saturday 6 July. As one of the Civic Charities, MAP will be riding a six seated ‘quadricycle’ adorned with flowers, and Hatch Brenner staff have volunteered to help with fundraising on the day. In line with the theme this year, ‘Love the world around you’, MAP will be handing out seeds whilst collecting donations from the crowds.
Caroline Billings, Hatch Brenner Partner, MAP Trustee and Private Client expert commented: “Our staff are delighted to continue working with MAP, particularly in their tenure as one of the Civic charities for Norwich. As a Trustee of MAP, I see first hand the work they do directly benefiting so many young people in our region. We can’t wait for the Lord Mayor’s Procession, and to develop further joint projects to help raise both awareness and funds for MAP.”
Morgan Pickard, MAP Fundraising Officer added: “We are delighted that Hatch Brenner has chosen to continue to support us, and look forward to working together over the coming year. Funds raised for MAP go directly to help support young people through our drop-in centres in Norwich and Great Yarmouth as well as in schools, community venues and through outreach activities across Norfolk.”
