Hatch Brenner Solicitors on Theatre Street is working with local youth charity MAP: The Mancroft Advice Project to fund the provision of a crèche for attendees of their ‘Circle of Security’ course for young parents in Norwich.
Circle of Security is an internationally recognised course for young parents. Over ten weeks, young parents are given specialist support to gain confidence, knowledge and parenting skills. They are supported to explore their own experiences and attachments and develop better relationships with their co-parents, creating stronger attachments with their own children and a more stable family environment.
“Coming to MAP is a lifeline for us” – a young couple who attended the course.
Hatch Brenner’s support will provide a crèche for the course for the first half of the year. Many of the young people MAP works with have little to no support network, so the crèche is an extremely important factor – allowing them to fully engage with and benefit from the course, knowing that their children are being looked after by experienced, qualified staff.
Caroline Billings, Hatch Brenner Head of Private Client and Chair of Trustees at Map commented: “Having worked closely with MAP since 2017, we have seen how much their support improves the lives and outcomes for young people. Being a young parent can be particularly challenging, and we are pleased to support the delivery of the excellent ‘Circle of Security’ course in this practical and impactful way.”
About the charity: MAP offer independent information, advice and advocacy; youth work, informal education and counselling for young people aged 11-25 years. They support over 4,000 young people every year, particularly those who are disengaged from their local community, disadvantaged by their background or deemed to be at risk in their current circumstances.
