  •  Represented the Estate of a fatally injured man sadly killed in a high profile chemical explosion. This included recovery of damages under the Fatal Accident’s Act for the widow and surviving children as well as representation during the 7 day jury inquest. A secondary victim claim was successfully  presented on behalf of the deceased’s son
  • Representation of a secondary victim / rescuer on scene during a large scale industrial accident at Yarmouth harbour. The psychological reaction precipitated a career change.
  • Over half a million pounds secured in damages for a client who received a traumatic brain injury at work.
  • £350,000 settlement for a fit and healthy 65-year-old Roofer who was injured at work resulting in a traumatic brain injury.
  • Settlement for road traffic accident client who received a brain and spinal injury.

Colin’s background

Having studied at Liverpool John Moore University and qualifying in practice in Lancashire, I have been involved in personal injury law for over 25 years. Having previously worked as a partner in a London firm, I joined Hatch Brenner Solicitors in 2005 and became Managing Partner in 2022.

I am a trustee for brain injury charity – Headway Norfolk & Waveney and I am delighted to be included on the Headway Solicitor’s Directory once again for 2023.

I hold accreditation from the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator and Brain Injury Specialist. APIL is dedicated to promoting the interests of accident victims. I am also a member of the Norfolk & Norwich Medico-Legal Society, Eastern Region Brain Injury Forum, Norfolk and Waveney Brain Injury Network and the Norfolk Area Brain Injury Forum.
